It holds 4.4 on Google from more than 2,000 reviews and is the place in Turda to eat game – wild boar, hare, venison – in a castle setting.
About the place
The castle hotel, built in medieval style with stone walls and plenty of timber, splits its restaurant into several rooms: the Outlaws' Hut with hunting trophies, the Peasant Cottage with Romanian decor, and a small 'Dracula's castle', a 12-seat room with a stone throne. In summer you sit on a wooden terrace built by craftsmen from Maramureș.
The menu has game platters (wild boar, hare, venison), soups and Transylvanian dishes in big portions. The castle also hosts weddings and parties, so weekends can be busy.
Good to know
- Book a table at weekends, especially for groups: the reception answers around the clock on 0264 316 850.
- Ask to see the castle room with Dracula's throne, even if you do not eat there.
- The game platters are large and meant for several people.
