About the place
The building belongs to the Hungarian Unitarian Church and was the residence of the Unitarian bishops until 2008. Its oldest parts date from the late 14th and early 15th centuries, with Gothic and Renaissance stone frames. After a restoration of almost ten years, the house reopened in 2018 as the House of Religious Freedom; the guesthouse is named after the 1568 Diet of Torda, which proclaimed religious freedom.
All rooms have a private bathroom, Wi-Fi, a fridge and a TV, and the 3 apartments have kitchens. Bistro 1568, serving Transylvanian dishes, is in the inner courtyard. The guesthouse holds 4.7 on Google from 91 reviews and scores between 9.2 and 9.4 on Booking.
